Clevis Vs. Eye Type Chain Hooks & The Difference Between Them

Clevis Vs. Eye Type Chain Hooks & The Difference Between Them

Clevis Vs. Eye Type Chain Hooks has always been a commonly asked question, especially when the customer is presented with the option to choose either.

Why Clevis Pins Are a Winner

Some riggers are true believers when it comes to a 'less is more' philosophy and we can't agree more (in this instance!)- less components, less risk of damage and fewer replacement parts (and there for lower maintenance costs) means your chains are likely to provide a stronger return on investment when you buy a setup with Clevis Pins instead of Eye Hooks and Component Connectors.

"I don't trust 'em" (You should!)

Now some people say "hey I don't like the pins, they could fall out!" Not. A. Chance. Our clevis pins are secured by two cross pins making this actually safer and more secure than a sling hook connected by a component connector.

We do however install the grab hook adjustment hooks with chain connectors for the purpose of flexability and ease of use due to their location at the top of the chain and because of this they're less likely to encounter the abuse that the bottom hooks often incur.

The bottom line

We use Clevis type hooks on all of our chain bottom fittings, the lightweight and secure fitment is our personal favorite and it's also significantly more cost-effective for you, the customer meaning it was a no-brainer from us to bring you the very best professional setup at an amazing price.
