Masterlinks & Sub-Assemblies for Chain Slings – Built for Strength and Safety

At SlingSmarter, we stock a complete range of masterlinks and masterlink sub-assemblies engineered for professional lifting and rigging applications. Whether you're assembling a chain sling or replacing a critical component, our masterlinks are designed to meet the most demanding jobsite requirements.

Looking for a top link for 1- or 2-leg chain slings? Our standard masterlinks are purpose-built for that job. Building a 3- or 4-leg sling? You’ll need a masterlink with sub-assembly, which includes welded or mechanical intermediate links for safe and balanced load distribution across multiple sling legs.

Each masterlink is forged from premium-grade alloy steel, heat-treated for superior performance, and clearly marked for traceability and load ratings. We supply both Grade 80 and Grade 100 options suitable for various chain sizes and working load requirements — all compliant with ASME B30.9.

  • Engineered for overhead lifting and rigging applications
  • Compatible with chain slings from 1/4” up to 1/2” diameter
  • Assembled and tested in Houston, TX using globally sourced components
  • Available with custom components to suit your exact build

What Is a Masterlink in Lifting?

A masterlink (or “top link”) is the main attachment point between a chain sling and a lifting hook. It is responsible for bearing the total load and distributing force evenly across the sling legs. Choosing the correct size and type — especially for multi-leg chain slings — is crucial for lifting safely. We offer standard Grade 100 models or specialist DNV and 'zinc-tough' models resistant to hydrogen embrittlement.
